Battle of the Boro’s 2018

NYC "BATTLE of the BORO'S"

Brooklyn, Manhattan, Staten Island, Queens and the Bronx

HOW IT WORKS

This is a single elimination two-day tournament featuring 16 teams per borough. Teams must consist of 5-to-8 players. "Battle of the Boro's is currently scheduled to be held April 2019. Each borough will compete during separate months and then the winners will play to determine the Clutch Sports Performance Battle of the Boro Champion. Tentatively, registration is $350.00 for teams that want to participate. Registration for the Dunk Contest and or 3-point Contest is $75.00 each event. We'll offer worldwide streaming of the live event.

Five -on- Five Tournament

The tournaments we host attract some of the best players in New York. Our staff manages and organizes host facilities, registration, referees, and scheduling. You can also try your luck with our online and offline raffles for prize giveaways.

Who Will Win?

16 teams will be chosen by the fans with the most votes. The teams will play according to the order they register, teams 1 will play team 2 and so on. After each winner of the boroughs tournament, there will be 5 undefeated team representing each borough. They are going to be 5 teams left to play for the Grand Finale.
All of the 5 teams will be undefeated so there will be a wild card game to see who would be in the final four. We will add all the teams scores of the teams that win through the tournament to determine the seed position.
The Two teams with the lowest scores total will, play in the wild card game. The winner will play the team with the highest score total. If there happens to be 3 or more teams tied then we will add the championship game in which they played in their borough.
For Clutch sports Performance "Battle of the Boro's" dunk contest and three-point contest, The fans will choose the 5 participants to represent their borough for the Battle of the boro's event
Five participants will compete in each borough to determine one borough champ. All five borough champs will compete in the dunk contest and three-point contest to see who wins.

Prizes include:

• Grand Prize Winner for Clutch Sports Performance Battle of the Boro's Championship Team - $10,000
• Dunk Contest Grand Prize Championship Winner - $2,500
• Three-Point Grand Prize Championship Winner - $2,500

DUNK CONTEST RULES

Officials- referees serve as the officiating crew and have the final say on what is considered a dunk attempt and what counts as a made dunk
Judging- Five judges are used for the 5 Battle of the Boroughs events
Fans Judging- The dunk contest will be judged by spectators and fans who cast their votes during live streaming. Fans will determine the CSP BATTLE OF THE BORO'S Dunk Contest Grand Prize Champion
Each judge ranks the completed dunk on a scale of six to 10 points. The lowest possible score is 30. The maximum is 50. The scores from both attempts are added together to produce the composite score.
Props- Each player must receive approval of any prop use from the Basketball Clutch Sports Performance Inc.. Another person is considered prop usage.
Time Limits- Once the player is given the ball from the official, he has two minutes to dunk. He can take as many attempts as needed during the two minute period. If the player has not completed a dunk before the time limit, he will have two more attempts to complete a dunk.
Round 1- Each contestant is given two dunks during the first round. The order contestants are chosen before the event starts. The score of the first dunk determines the order of the second dunk attempt. The order for the second dunk will begin with the player with the lowest score. From that point it will continue from lowest to highest. The two contestants with the highest composite scores at the end of the first round advance to the final round of competition.
Round 2- Each player has two dunk attempts. The scores from each attempt will be added together for their final score. The contestant with the lowest composite score from round one will dunk first. After both players have attempted their first dunk, the player with the lower score will be the first to attempt his second dunk. The player with the highest composite score is the winner.
Tiebreakers-If both players are awarded with the same score at the end of the final round, a one-dunk “dunk-off” will begin. The players will continue dunking until one player is awarded the highest score. The two-minute time limit is in effect for each dunk attempt.
The Battle of the Boro's Champions Dunk Contest will be able to compete in the 2018 Dunk Contest.

3 POINT CONTEST

For our three-point contest, five contestants will compete in each borough to determine one borough champ. All five borough champs will compete in the three-point contest to see who wins.
Each shooter will have 60 seconds to shoot five balls from five racks positioned around the 3-point line. One rack will be stationed at the top of the key, one will be on each wing, and one will be in each corner.
Each shooter may begin at either corner of the court. The designated shooting spots along the 3-point arc will be marked with red line. The clock will start on the shooter’s first release. The first four balls on each rack are worth one point, and the fifth ball on each rack is worth two points.
A shooter must have both feet behind the 3-point line when he/she releases the ball. A shooter’s total score is determined by adding the total points he/she receives for all made baskets from behind the 3-point line.
Tie-Breaker – When determining the Battle of the Boro's champion, the following tie-breaking procedure will be followed: The first tiebreaker will be the number of money balls each shooter hit in his/her round. If a tie still exists, the second tiebreaker will be the number of baskets made from the last rack. If a tie still exists, proceed backward through the number of racks until the tie is broken.
The Battle of the boro’s Champions of the 3-Point Shooting Contest will be able to compete in the 3 point shooting contest in 2018.

Player Eligibility

Each team captain is responsible for verification of team member eligibility as provided in these rules. Whenever a specific case is reported by protest, an investigation will be made to determine whether the person in question is eligible. Clutch Sports Performance Inc, reserves the right to check eligibility of any players or teams at any time. Any team using ineligible players will forfeit all games in which the ineligible player(s) participated or checked-in with the intent to participate. If an ineligible player is discovered during bracket play, the most recent game in which the ineligible player participated will be declared a forfeit and the offended team will advance. Players must be 21 to 35 years of age NO EXCEPTION. Participants can not be a College Ball player or Professional player.

Sportsmanship

In order to foster a healthy recreational atmosphere where violence and poor behavior are not tolerated, participants are expected to conduct themselves in a sportsman like manner at all times. In cases of verbal abuse or other forms of conduct constituting harassment, whether directed at an official, staff member or another participant, the staff will take action to eject the participant from the game and suspend the participant from competition for an appropriate length of time. Participant actions are subject to this standard before, during, and after the event.
If the level of sportsmanship and/or dangerous play in a game jeopardizes the safety and well-being of game participants or officials, that game may be terminated by any Sports staff member. In the event a game is terminated due to these reasons, the teams, team captains, and all players may be suspended from future Sports Program events.
Team members and team captains are also responsible for the behavior and sportsmanship of their team’s spectators. The Sports staff members have the authority to impose penalties against the team and/or team captain for improper behavior or poor sportsmanship of spectators. Spectators are also subject to ejection from the facility. Unaffiliated spectators are also subject to ejection from the facility for inappropriate behavior, as determined by Clutch Sports Performance Inc.

Ejections

Any participant who is ejected from a game due to unsportsmanlike behavior is required, along with the team captain, to meet with an Sports staff representative. The ejected participant will be ineligible to participate in any of Clutch Sports Performance event(s) until at least the time of the meeting with the CSP Sports staff. The team captain will also be ineligible to participate in any Sports Program event(s) until at least the time of the meeting with the CSP staff, but the team captain may be declared eligible for other Sports Program events upon contacting the CSP Sports administrative staff. Should the team captain be the ejected player, CSP Staff reserves the right to revoke captain’s privileges and require the team to designate a new team captain.
Any player(s) ejected for unsportsmanlike behavior will be suspended for at least one additional game following the ejection. A second ejection for unsportsmanlike behavior will result in suspension from the time of the incident for at least one calendar year,
Any foul deemed flagrant by an official or Intramural Sports staff member will result in an automatic ejection from the game for the player committing the flagrant foul. A flagrant foul is defined as a foul that is excessive, a non-sport related play, or committed with the intent to injure.

Non-Discrimination Policy

Clutch Sports Performance prohibits discrimination in employment, educational programs, and activities on the basis of race, creed, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, pregnancy, disability, genetic information, status as a U.S. veteran, service in the U.S. military, sexual orientation, gender identity, associational preferences, or any other classification that deprives the person of consideration as an individual. If, at any point before, during or after Intramural participation, a participant violates the aforementioned Non-Discrimination Policy, the participant will be ejected and subject to the ejection procedures as outlined in this document.

Fighting

Clutch Sports Performance Inc, Policy prohibits fighting during the Battle of the boros event and other events. Any player participating in our event who strikes, or attempts to strike, an official, supervisor, or another participant or joins a fight in progress will be automatically suspended from all Clutch Sports Performance activities from the time of the incident for at least two calendar year, and is also subject to criminal charges.

Team Rosters and NYS ID Requirements

Players must be 21 to 35 years of age to participate. All players participating in any tournament event will be required to show a New York State ID or government-issued photo ID prior to participation in each event. Anyone who does not produce a New York State ID or government-issued photo ID is considered an ineligible participant and will not be allowed to participate. NO ID = NO PLAY. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Any team found using a player that is playing under a fictitious name or ID, or a team that has a player that has checked-in, or attempted to check-in, under a fictitious name or ID with the intent to play illegally, will forfeit all games in which that player checked-in. The player using an improper ID and the player providing the ID to be used illegally will be suspended.

Expand your ball-playing skills in sports camps from our basketball trainers. Clutch Sports Performance is run by professionals with more than 20 years of experience. We provide youth ages 8-18 throughout all five of New York City's boroughs with state-of-the-art training and opportunities to compete in tournaments. Although we focus on training youth, anyone interested in improving their basketball shot or their overall fitness is welcome to sign up for our basketball clinics and fitness camps.

Our owner has a background in fitness and started Clutch Sports Performance to provide quality training that focuses on basic fundamentals. What makes us different from other similar programs is that we offer basketball as a fitness training tool to women, too. Training benefits include toning, weight loss, and much more.
